All Tied Up With a Bow
I finished threading the ribbon through the trim on the latest quilt! This seems like quite a victory, and it was certainly a lesson in patience. I found that if I rushed it at all the ribbon would start to fray and the trim would start to tear.
I did what I usually do, I made adjustments. I slowed down, I dipped the ends of the ribbon in wax to keep them from fraying and I went back and patched the areas that tore with some spare gampi. And then I slowed down some more because I found that the waxed ends of the ribbon would start to get all warm and gummy and would stick to the trim if I handled it too much. All in all a good meditative process.
Just need to whipstich the edge of this one and it will be done!
We managed to make it up to Veazie this week in between one of the many recent snow storms and the massive blizzard that hit the northeast to help celebrate my mother’s birthday. It was a brief visit but I did manage to get a view of a quilt that my mother is working on:
